The Trustees are meeting on Sunday 18th November. If you have any issues about the building or finances that you would like to be included on their agenda, please submit it in writing to Denise Hayton by 11th November. Please include your name on any correspondence.
Please remember to take care around the building whilst the renovations are going on, making sure that children are supervised at all times. Many thanks to Donald Taylor for the great work he is doing with the pointing.
For those writing cheques for donations to church . . . the bank has asked that, rather than just using the initials "SCF", we should write out the full name (Settle Christian Fellowship) on the payee line, or cheques may not be accepted for paying in to the church account. If you are donating to the work in Africa, please indicate that on the reverse of the cheque. If you are a taxpayer and would like to discuss Gift Aid, please discuss this with Keith Waterson.
Please remember that you can catch up with all the latest happenings with our mission work and hear recent sermons on our website.
Eugene Peterson, writer of "The Message", passed on last month. Since it is a paraphrase, we wouldn't suggest using it as a primary resource for in-depth Bible study, but here is a great verse from Philippians 4.
Don't fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God's wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It's wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the centre of your life.
