Statement of beliefs
We believe: · in God the Father, (Matt 9:1, Is.45:21) God the Son (John 20:28, John 10:30-33) God the Holy Spirit (Gen1:2, John 4:24) as one God (Is. 48:16) · that the bible is the final, inspired, authoritative written word of God (Rev 22:17-20, 2 Tim. 3:16, Gal.1:8) · in the virgin birth (Is.7:14, Matt,1:23) · that Jesus died on the cross, rose on the third day and ascended into heaven, where He is seated at God’s right hand (Rev.1:8, 1Cor.15 :1-8) · that Jesus came to reconcile the world to himself. He will also come again to judge the living and the dead (2 Cor 5:18-21, Rev 22:20) · that there is no other way for mankind to be saved other than through the atoning sacrifice of Jesus (John 14:6, Acts 4:12, Gal. 1:8, John 3:16, John 6:35) · in the baptism of the Holy Spirit for believers today (John 14:5-23, Luke 24:49, Acts 19:1-7) · that Christians are called to reconcile a hurting world to Jesus(Matt.28:18-20, Mark16:15-20, Col.1:18-20, 2 Cor.5 : 18-21) · through Jesus we are now sons and priests (Gal 4:6-7, John1:12, Rev.1:3-6) |

We are a Pentecostal, charismatic church whose aims are: · To celebrate God’s presence in worship · To equip Christians, helping each to develop their full potential · To present the love of Jesus to all who seek wholeness, deliverance and healing, through actions, words and deeds. · To send out/support Christians who are spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ locally, nationally and internationally. Settle Christian Fellowship is independent and self-governing but is affiliated to the International Gospel Outreach (IGO), whose leadership team provides oversight for both Church leaders and for the congregation. The leadership of SCF also meets regularly with ministers from other church denominations in Settle, and the surrounding areas, working with them to promote Christ in the community.
