Maasai Threads of Hope - The First Month - February/March 2014
There are so many wonderful things happening at our school I can hardly capture them all!. We have now been opened for just over 1 month. All of our students can operate both the treadle and the electric machines and are able to make shukas and Lesos (the traditional Maasai garments. ) They are now starting to learn how to make school uniforms.
Here are our students on one of our Shuka Days where we all (yes, me too! ) wear traditional dress.

Josephine (our lead teacher) and I went to Nairobi to purchase materials so we can have items to sell in our shop when it's open. (The contractors are now finishing the septic system and raised water tank so our toilets will work - we will open the shop by 15th March and will be able to welcome tourists with our facilities and encourage them to purchase items in our shop).
Our staff: Gloria (teacher), me , Josephine (lead teacher), Makooi (night watchman) and Noolasho (cook)
Since purchasing supplies in Nairobi a few weeks ago, this is now the 3rd week in which we have had items to sell and have started to earn an income. We were so excited to be able to bring our first tithes to the church!
I have been blessed with help to buy a 4 x 4 vehicle to drive to school and back (had been riding on the back of a motorcycle taxi!) and to Narok and Nairobi SAFELY for supplies.
Our morning praise, worship and discipleship time is still my favourite part of the day. We've had one of our staff receive salvation, and we are all growing closer to the Lord as we see His mighty hand of protection and provision in all we do.
Thank you for your continued prayers! "Together we are wrapping the world with Threads of Hope."
